Send your shots and timeline to Final Cut Pro on a Mac for advanced finishing. A Pro feature.

Final Cut Pro export is a Pro feature that sends your flick to Final Cut Pro on a Mac for advanced editing. The export bundles your shot clips, the project file, and a captions file into a single zip that you AirDrop to your Mac.

What's included

The export carries your shot clips and your timeline. It does not carry filters, transitions, sound effects, music, speed, or titles, since those are better handled inside Final Cut. Captions are the exception: an SRT subtitle file is included automatically.

Export to Final Cut Pro

  1. Share to Final Cut Pro

    With your flick ready, tap Share from My Flicks or while editing, then choose Final Cut Pro.

  2. AirDrop to your Mac

    With your Mac nearby, AirDrop the zip file to it.

  3. Open the project

    On your Mac, open the zip, then open the file ending in .fcpxml.

  4. Import

    Final Cut Pro opens. Pick a library to import into, and click OK on any warnings. Your timeline appears with the clips, ready for music, titles, filters, and finishing.

Plan for the export

When you know you'll finish in Final Cut, capture your shots in sequence at the right length, and skip adding titles, transitions, filters, sound effects, or music in NanoFlick, since those don't export. Give your shots accurate names, because they become the file names in Final Cut. Many creators use NanoFlick as the fastest way to capture, name, and assemble shots for a Final Cut project.
