Reading a template
See a template's shots, lengths, transitions, and who made it, so you know exactly what you're signing up to shoot.
Open a template to see exactly what it asks for: a quick read shows the shots and roughly how long it will take. It doesn't have to be a perfect fit, though. A template is a suggestion, not a script, so once you're shooting you can skip shots, reorder them, or add your own.
The shot list
Each shot appears in order, sized to its length, so you can see the shape of the whole story at a glance. For each shot you'll see its name, a description of what to film, which camera to use, the suggested length, and the transition into it. Add up the shots and you know the whole shoot before you start.
Who made it
Public templates show who made it, along with a star rating once people have rated it. The rating is a quick signal of what has worked for other people. When the creator has a public profile, you can open it to see more of their work.
What you can do
From a template you can:
- Use it in the app by opening it on the device where NanoFlick is installed.
- Make your own version to adapt it to your needs, covered in Make your own version. The original stays unchanged.
- Share it with a link.
- Report it if something looks wrong.
If you have permission to edit the template, an edit control appears as well.
