Versions
Keep multiple cuts of the same shots from one project: a free Long master, plus Premium Medium, Short, and Custom versions.
Versions let you keep several cuts and lengths of the same shots, all in one project. Each version still uses NanoFlick's shot-by-shot approach, so it stays fast and flexible.
Every flick starts with a Long version, and that one is always free. Creating and switching among Medium, Short, and Custom versions is part of NanoFlick Premium and Pro. If your subscription lapses, your other versions stay saved, they're just paused, and they come back the moment you renew.
Why use versions
Say you filmed a trip. You might keep a long version of five minutes for yourself, a medium version of thirty seconds for friends, and a short fifteen-second teaser for TikTok. Versions can differ by length, pace, sequence, or audience.
Version types
- Long (default): every flick starts here. It's your master copy and can't be deleted.
- Medium: an optional mid-length cut, usually thirty to sixty seconds.
- Short: an optional brief cut, usually eight to fifteen seconds.
- Custom: name your own, up to eleven characters. Make as many as you like.
Add, switch, copy, delete
Open the ⋯ menu on the Shot List to add a version (it starts as a copy of the current one), switch between versions, copy one version over another, or delete one. The Long version can't be deleted, and copying overwrites the target version, so use it with care.
What's specific to each version
Each version has its own arrangement, trims, hidden shots, filters, transitions, titles, captions, music, voiceovers, speed, masks, and Flick Settings. A few actions, though, reach every version at once.
- Deleting a shot removes it from every version. To drop a shot from just one version, hide it instead.
- Reshooting a shot replaces its video in every version.
A good workflow
Finish your Long version first, then create the others and trim them down by hiding shots or tightening trims. That way you don't repeat the same edits across every cut.
Sharing a version
General shares to YouTube, Instagram, or your camera roll use the version you're on. For the NanoFlick community, only one version is the official one at a time; sharing a different version replaces it.
