Introduce yourself, greet the viewer by name and start strong with a challenge or provocative question to get them to keep watching. It can be your strongest claim or their biggest fear.
Show your solution and state exactly what your it will do for the viewer. Speak in terms of BENEFITS, not features.
Provide a bit more context on why it's a good fit for issues the viewer faces. Stay focused on BENEFITS not features. You'll present features in later shots.
Show something your product does. What makes it exciting/useful?
Show another thing your product does. Talk about how it’s been successful for another customer.
Show one more thing your product does. How is it better than alternatives or competitors?
Describe how others are using your solution. If possible, include a shot of a customer saying how they use & love your product. You can have them email it and import the shot into your video.
Have a last shot of you and the product, and invite viewer to try it out. Mention broad deal terms and what the next steps would be. Then thank them for watching.
Keep it short...
...then cut it even shorter. Usually under 90 seconds for a serious video; under 30 for a fun one.
Keep it moving
Make sure each shot has a point...and get to it fast! No fluff or filler.
Tell a story
Stories need structure. Make sure you've got a beginning, middle and end.
Know the audience
Family will watch a 2:00 video. Everyone else gets bored after 45 seconds.
Focus on people
Go easy on transitions, filters, etc. The best content is people relating.
Time passages
Use transitions like Dissolve or Dip-to-Black to indicate passage of time
Multiple angles
Using multiple short shots with different angles is better than one longer shot.
Start wide...
...then move closer on subsequent shot for the scene.
