Say hi and how you've been thinking about them. Add a compliment about how much fun you've had with them.
Cut to the chase, but gently. Don't be critical. Just say you're growing in different ways, or have different lives and that the relationship has run its course.
Say what you’d like to happen next: work together in good faith to deal with the logistics so each of you can move forward and find happiness in a new life
Say nice things about them and how you'd still like them in your life, though you understand if it'll be a while.
Wrap it up, saying it's sad and difficult but it feels right. I care about you but I need to move on. I hope you can understand and be ok.
Keep it short...
...then cut it even shorter. Usually under 90 seconds for a serious video; under 30 for a fun one.
Keep it moving
Make sure each shot has a point...and get to it fast! No fluff or filler.
Tell a story
Stories need structure. Make sure you've got a beginning, middle and end.
Know the audience
Family will watch a 2:00 video. Everyone else gets bored after 45 seconds.
Focus on people
Go easy on transitions, filters, etc. The best content is people relating.
