Say hi and announce that this is your video wish list of what you’re hoping for. Let them know you’ll be happy with anything, but you’re giving some ideas to make it easy.
Describe the first item or set of items. If you can, shoot a picture while you describe it. You can shoot the actual item or a picture from the web on your laptop screen.
Describe the next item or set of items. Be specific and mention any specifics or options you prefer.
Describe the next item or set of items. Think about adding experiences like a night out or a fun day adventure.
Thank them for watching and remind them you’d be happy with anything they choose.
Keep it short...
...then cut it even shorter. Usually under 90 seconds for a serious video; under 30 for a fun one.
Keep it moving
Make sure each shot has a point...and get to it fast! No fluff or filler.
Tell a story
Stories need structure. Make sure you've got a beginning, middle and end.
Know the audience
Family will watch a 2:00 video. Everyone else gets bored after 45 seconds.
Focus on people
Go easy on transitions, filters, etc. The best content is people relating.
