NanoFlick — Shot-by-Shot Video Guide
Use this guide to quickly create a video for TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, etc.
Three-minute pitch to share your great idea with friends and investors. Use as many visuals as you can. The less blah-blah talking shots, the better.
Shoot each of the shots and keep the duration to the bare minimum. We've included instructions for each shot to create a short, fast-moving video your friends and followers will love. When you're finished shooting, just combine all the shots and you're done.

Say what your product or service is succinctly, then add the most impressive detail. It can be revenue, customers, investors, team members, media coverage, etc.
Give a BRIEF narrative of how this got started.
Define your market and say how big it is. "We serve all working moms with school-aged kids. They'll spend over $4 billion in the U.S. this year on services like ours."
Describe why your solution is needed: how people do things currently and why that's a problem.
Provide more detail on your solution and how it works. Use illustrations, mock ups or a demonstration.
How does your solution compare with competitors and substitutes? Use a chart or illustrations or show your competitors' offerings.
Why is now the right time for your solution? If people have gotten along fine in the past without it, what has changed or what will convince them they need it?
Describe where you are in the process and how you'll finish the offering. Don't talk about marketing yet...that's next. This is just about building and finishing your product/service.
How will you create awareness and get your first set of customers? How will your marketing allow you to scale? This is often the hardest part, so answer it well.
Describe how this is profound. How it will change the world. How much money it will make, and over what time period. Be specific about the size of the opportunity.
Describe the people who are already working on it. Why are YOU uniquely suited to realize this opportunity? Be specific.
Give a brief recap of the most salient and impressive points. The next shot will be "the big ask" so this is the buildup. Show the product or mockups again.
Ask the viewer for specific help: investment, introductions, joining the team, support, etc. Let them know how to get in touch with you and thank them for watching.
Keep it short...
...then cut it even shorter. Usually under 90 seconds for a serious video; under 30 for a fun one.
Keep it moving
Make sure each shot has a point...and get to it fast! No fluff or filler.
Tell a story
Stories need structure. Make sure you've got a beginning, middle and end.
Know the audience
Family will watch a 2:00 video. Everyone else gets bored after 45 seconds.
Focus on people
Go easy on transitions, filters, etc. The best content is people relating.
Time passages
Use transitions like Dissolve or Dip-to-Black to indicate passage of time
Multiple angles
Using multiple short shots with different angles is better than one longer shot.
Start wide...
...then move closer on subsequent shot for the scene.
