Give an overview of the purpose of the Rs. Describe what you can do for each R to help reduce pollution on Earth
Shoot each of the shots and keep the duration to the bare minimum. We've included instructions for each shot to create a short, fast-moving video your friends and followers will love. When you're finished shooting, just combine all the shots and you're done.

Introduce yourself: name, school, grade level. Say what sustainability means to you. Let the viewer know that you'll be discussing the 10 Rs of sustainability.
Describe how the Rs are meaningful; how they provide everyday guidance for reducing pollution on Earth. Explain why that is important to you.
Describe the first R: Rethinking how you view natural resources with the understanding that they are limited. Talk about how that impacts your everyday choices.
During this shot, show single use items, plastic or wasteful packaging. Discuss ways you can avoid using those items and how you can make it a daily habit.
Announce this R. In your kitchen, show small ways you reduce consumption of water, energy as well as garbage, food waste & plastic.
Show how you handle compost while you describe the process and benefits of doing so.
Show how you reuse food containers and other packaging. Explain how it saves money AND prevents more waste being transported to landfills.
Describe this next R. Show items you're repairing or have repaired. Or show products that you've gotten used or refurbished. Again, explain how this both saves money AND the planet.
Show how you've "rescued" un-needed items by finding new uses for them. If you don't have any examples, describe some possibilities for the viewer.
Describe what "rehome" means - finding ways to donate, resale or gifting items you no longer need. What websites or resources can you use to rehome un-needed items?
Show how you recycle while you explain why recycling is the LAST option to consider, even if it's an important one.
Wrap up by saying "That's the list!' Let the viewer know which R you've been doing the longest, and which is the newest R you've been addressing. Describe other actions you'll be adding to your efforts next.
Shoot this in front of some natural beauty. Say why sustainability is important to you and ask the viewer to rethink their daily choices as well. Thank them for watching and say goodbye.
Keep it short...
...then cut it even shorter. Usually under 90 seconds for a serious video; under 30 for a fun one.
Keep it moving
Make sure each shot has a point...and get to it fast! No fluff or filler.
Tell a story
Stories need structure. Make sure you've got a beginning, middle and end.
Know the audience
Family will watch a 2:00 video. Everyone else gets bored after 45 seconds.
Focus on people
Go easy on transitions, filters, etc. The best content is people relating.
Time passages
Use transitions like Dissolve or Dip-to-Black to indicate passage of time
Multiple angles
Using multiple short shots with different angles is better than one longer shot.
Start wide...
...then move closer on subsequent shot for the scene.
