Your brand kit in the app
Apply your team's brand kit to a flick, switch it per version, and decide when to pull in a kit update.
A brand kit is your organization's branding, built by your admins on the web. Applying one to a flick means it carries your team's branding automatically, in step with everything else your team shares. You still bring the shots and your own voice; the kit handles the brand elements, so there's nothing extra to set up. Brand kits come with Team plans and higher.
This is the app side of brand kits. The branding itself is built in the dashboard, and it can also be attached to a template; here we're talking about applying it to a flick you're making.
What's in a kit (and what isn't)
A kit includes only the pieces your brand manager chose to put in it, not all of these. It might be just a watermark, or a watermark and an endslate, or a fuller set: any mix of a watermark, an endslate, intro and outro clips, background music, caption styling, text-title styling, and the share tags added when you share. It also carries your brand colors and logo for reference; those show in the kit but don't change the video itself.
Anything the kit doesn't include is left to you and uses your own settings, exactly like a flick with no kit. So if your video has no watermark, or no music, that's almost always on purpose: your team just didn't put one in the kit. It doesn't mean the kit failed to apply.
To see exactly what a kit includes, tap the ⓘ on its row in the Brand Kit list.
Apply a kit
Open a flick, tap the ⋯ menu, choose Brand Kit, and pick one. Your organization's default kit is applied to new flicks automatically, so most of the time there's nothing to do.
A kit applies to the current version of your flick, the same as your other Flick Settings. New versions inherit the kit, and you can choose a different kit for each version, which is handy when your team runs more than one brand.
"No brand kit"
Choosing No brand kit means your organization's kit isn't applied to this flick. It does not mean the flick has no branding: your own Flick Settings still apply, including any watermark, endslate, or music you set yourself.
When the kit is updated
Your admins can publish a new version of a kit. Your flick stays on the version it was applied with, so an update never changes a finished flick, or one you're partway through, without your say-so. When a newer version exists, the Brand Kit screen shows an update banner with what changed, and you decide:
- Update pulls in the new version. Anything you set yourself stays the way you set it.
- Skip this version waits for a later one.
- Remind me later brings it back next time.
If a kit your flick uses is retired by your admins, you'll see a slightly different prompt: keep what you have, or switch to your organization's default.
If your subscription lapses
A kit's branding applies while your organization's subscription is active. If membership lapses, affected flicks fall back to your own settings until it's restored.
