NanoFlick — Shot-by-Shot Video Guide
Use this guide to quickly create a video for TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, etc.
Walk through the options for restricted diets. For diners, it’s an opportunity to share your knowledge and experience. For restaurants, it demonstrates your breadth of options, hospitality and care for all diners.
Shoot each of the shots and keep the duration to the bare minimum. We've included instructions for each shot to create a short, fast-moving video your friends and followers will love. When you're finished shooting, just combine all the shots and you're done.

Introduce yourself with the restaurant or signage in the background. Say that you’ll be walking through the allergy-free options at the restaurant.
Share a BRIEF bit about the restaurant - why you like it, how long you’ve been a part of it, and any personal history about how you got connected to it.
Say the scope of restricted diets accommodated at the restaurant: vegan, vegetarian, gluten, dairy, Kosher, Halal, etc. Don’t go into detail about dishes; that’ll be in the next few shots.
Going allergen-by-allergen, list each individual dish in a separate shot. This is the first shot. You can describe the dish to the camera, or show a close-up of the dish while you do so.
Describe the next item. Don’t forget to mention which restrictions it fulfills. It’s best to show the dish or shoot the menu itself as you describe it. You can also just talk directly to the camera.
Describe the next item. Share what’s special about each item.
Describe the next item. Make sure you include your favorite item on the list and describe why you like it.
Describe the next item. You can add additional shots if needed, or combine a few menu items in a shot.
Standing in front of the restaurant or kitchen, provide a summary of the restaurant’s accommodations, thank the viewer for watching and welcome them to visit soon.
Keep it short...
...then cut it even shorter. Usually under 90 seconds for a serious video; under 30 for a fun one.
Keep it moving
Make sure each shot has a point...and get to it fast! No fluff or filler.
Tell a story
Stories need structure. Make sure you've got a beginning, middle and end.
Know the audience
Family will watch a 2:00 video. Everyone else gets bored after 45 seconds.
Focus on people
Go easy on transitions, filters, etc. The best content is people relating.
Time passages
Use transitions like Dissolve or Dip-to-Black to indicate passage of time
Multiple angles
Using multiple short shots with different angles is better than one longer shot.
Start wide...
...then move closer on subsequent shot for the scene.
