NanoFlick — Shot-by-Shot Video Guide
Use this guide to quickly create a video for TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, etc.
Tell the story of your startup: why you started it, what's the mission, how the product/service fulfills that mission. You can end with a call-to-action for customers, advisors, investors or the media.
Shoot each of the shots and keep the duration to the bare minimum. We've included instructions for each shot to create a short, fast-moving video your friends and followers will love. When you're finished shooting, just combine all the shots and you're done.

Introduce yourself IN THE CONTEXT of your startup. It should be super-quick, so if your startup's about parenting, speak of yourself as a parent. Humanize yourself; make yourself relatable & credible.
Describe the problem your startup solves. If you have personal experience, share that. Otherwise, describe specific other people who experience the problem. Show them (and the problem) visually if you can.
Demonstrate your product/service and focus on the core benefit: how does it solve the problem? Stay focussed; you'll add detail in next shot. If it's an app, you can do a screen recording and import it into this video.
Demonstrate a unique detail that sets you apart from the competition. Or show something that reveals additional uses or benefits.
Show how it's created great outcomes for others. Best if you can have a customer speak to it on-camera. Or you can show how the customer has used your offering.
Building on the last shot, speak to how these customers and their outcomes are what got you started, and they're why you keep innovating and driving forward. Talk about the next steps for your product/service.
Time for "The Ask." Thank viewers for watching and request something: contact you for a discussion or demo. Or try your service. Or visit a website. Or follow you on Twitter. Be specific about your request.
Keep it short...
...then cut it even shorter. Usually under 90 seconds for a serious video; under 30 for a fun one.
Keep it moving
Make sure each shot has a point...and get to it fast! No fluff or filler.
Tell a story
Stories need structure. Make sure you've got a beginning, middle and end.
Know the audience
Family will watch a 2:00 video. Everyone else gets bored after 45 seconds.
Focus on people
Go easy on transitions, filters, etc. The best content is people relating.
Time passages
Use transitions like Dissolve or Dip-to-Black to indicate passage of time
Multiple angles
Using multiple short shots with different angles is better than one longer shot.
